New Routine

Since we’ve already hit the 2 months to go mark, I thought that some serious adjustments to the routine had to be made. For instance, from now on, I will be waking up at 6 am, instead of 6:45 to make time for a proper breakfast, lunch packing, and some yoga / light stretching. Every Tuesday I’ll have bellydance practice in the evening and my gym visit will switch between Wednesday and Thursday after work depending on what I have planned for the week. The plan is to remain lean without adding bulk from working out and retaining sanity :)

Will need to go scouting for some Epsom salts and start experimenting with it before the big day. As far as the rest of the preparations, the beadwork is coming along quite nicely (to accompany my accessories). I was hoping not to massacre this one particular project yesterday that included Swarovski beads and I think it was a success, if I can say so myself :)

I love it when…

…when I sit cross-legged at my desk at work and sip on Coconut Chai tea in the morning.

…when the sunshine peaks into my home and leaps onto the wall of my living room in the most gorgeous golden tones of the sunset.

…when my mom acts all worried about me just because I couldn’t pick up her calls the night before.

…when I see new leaves sprouting on my house plants.

…when a small child looks deep into your eyes for a moment and then all of a sudden smiles in such a big way that the room lights up.

…when you’ve been wanting something particular for days or thinking about how you’ll be able to afford something big, and someone you don’t even know unexpectedly gives all that you wanted just because.

…when you find a long lost dearly-missed friend online accidentally.

…when you bite into a warm croissant filled with chocolate.

…when you pick up a book only to find that even though seemingly unrelated, it answers the question you’ve been asking in your mind all this tme.

…and after all that, how can people still say there is no divinity in our world? It’s a magical place if you only care to look.

Be a blessing, Not a pest

Maybe I’m a little late for the party, but one of the biggest problems of today is not the lack of happiness, lack of resources, lack of world peace or clean air – it’s the lack of motivation to do ANYthing someone else isn’t pushing you to do!

Think about it. How many of us out there do the research before buying anything we don’t deem to be a “big” purchase? Not many, that’s how many. Most tend to wait for advertisements to tell us what to buy because it’s convenient – you don’t have to think about it as much if someone already tells you what to do. Or we just go for the cheapest thing out there if frugal is on the menu for the day. But just as well, that involves LESS thinking, LESS effort because we aren’t motivated to go the extra mile. So if we can’t even be bothered to look on the back label of the product to see if this can of sauce/soup/whatever is actually more nutritious for us than the one next to it for 10 cents less and with less marketing dedicated to it, how can we EVER be bothered to get our butts of the couch and CHANGE THE WORLD???? Are you serious????

Preposterous! Our ancestors would have KILLED to have the opportunities we have of today. We have it GOOD over here, so please look around you and notice just how good YOU have it. We have lots of social programs and charities dedicating precious resources to those that have less than others in our society. We can have a vote now! And that includes women too, which we now take for granted, but once upon a time, feminists really struggled for that right only for us now to throw our ballots into the garbage bin instead of the voting bin on the election date. We have free public internet in libraries and other public places (and the computers aren’t restricted to specific task like job search either). We have social networking coming out of the wazoo over here! If we wanted to change the world TODAY, it’s RIGHT over here! At the tip of your fingers!

WHAT’S KEEPING YOU?

You are dragging yourself down and you can’t blame anyone else out there for it. There are people out there utilizing all they can get to get their message across, to be heard, to make a difference. And you are still waiting for someone to come into the room with an inspirational speech “Go Team Go” for you to want to do something just for a minute and then say “No Thanks” and go back to your ordinary grey day on the couch.

NO ONE will save you if you don’t save yourself.

And no one will make any choices for you either unless it benefits them at this particular junction of your life somehow.

Figure out what is important to you RIGHT NOW and go do it. If you don’t, no one else will. If you don’t, you are withholding something very important from the universe that had brought you so much already to your life.

Be a blessing to society, not a pest.
